MSEd. Curriculum and Instruction, Science, Purdue University
M.A. Zoology, Miami University of Ohio
Danae' currently works for Elkhart Community Schools (www.elkhart.k12.in.us) as a District Science Coach and for Encouraging Technology and Hands-On Science (http://www.ethosinc.org/) as a curriculum and professional development consultant. She serves on the Hoosier Association of Science Teachers, Inc. board of directors and on the Diversity Committee for the National Science Education Leadership Association.
She was an adjunct professor of Science Curriculum Studies at Goshen College and maintains membership in many professional education organizations. She served on several Indiana state standards committees and as a curriculum reviewer for Millmark Publishers, Immersion Learning, and the JASON Project. She is currently working as a curator for the Next Generation Science Standards through the National Science Teachers Association.
Danae' has participated as an Indiana LASER team member as a part of the ISTEM state planning committee and as a faculty member for the Smithsonian Science Education Center, Strategic Planning Institutes. She has been awarded several educational scholarships and professional development grants and was inducted into the Golden Key International and Phi Kappa Phi Honors Societies.
Danae' continues to lead professional development workshops in inquiry science, conducts presentations at various science education conferences, and coordinates the Elkhart City Science Fair.
In past lives Danae' has taught preschool, First Grade, Reading Recovery and English as a Second Language and trained with the Indiana Mathematics Initiative through Indiana University and the Indiana Reading Academy.
